Fidelity National Information Services Inc., or FIS, said Feb. 8 that Stephanie Ferris was promoted to company president.
Ferris, 48, was chief financial officer of payment processing company Worldpay Inc., which was acquired by Jacksonville-based FIS in July 2019.
She became chief operating officer of FIS after the merger, leading the integration of Worldpay into the company. However, she left the financial technology company in September 2020.
Ferris rejoined FIS as chief administrative officer in September 2021.
“Stephanie is a tremendously talented leader and we’re fortunate to leverage her extensive industry and financial insights to help accelerate our growth and shape the future of FIS,” Chairman and CEO Gary Norcross said in a news release.
Ferris succeeds Bruce Lowthers, who resigned as president Jan. 31, which was 10 months after he was promoted to the position.
FIS disclosed Lowthers was resigning in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that said he left “to pursue other opportunities” but gave no other details.
Lowthers was not mentioned in the Feb. 8 news release.
