Downtown Vision Inc. and the city announced the five-act lineup for the second annual Jax River Jams concert series throughout April.

The nonprofit Downtown business advocacy agency announced the 2022 schedule Feb. 1 in a news release.

The bands again will be featured at Riverfront Plaza, formerly the Jacksonville Landing, with opening acts starting at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and headliners at 8:30 p.m.

They are:

• April 7: Rock band Spin Doctors and alternative and Southern rock band Sister Hazel.

• April 14: Grammy Award-winning R&B group Boyz II Men.

•  April 21: Country Music Association’s Female Artist of the Year Carly Pearce.

• April 28: Indie rock band Manchester Orchestra.

According to the news release, DVI is producing Jax River Jams in partnership with the Florida Theatre and the city Division of Sports and Entertainment to bring the cross-genre performances back to the Downtown riverfront.

“As part of our efforts to help make Downtown Jacksonville a little bit better, we invite everyone to enjoy this free, live concert series on our beautiful riverfront,” DVI CEO Jake Gordon said in the release.

VyStar Credit Union, which is headquartered at 76 S. Laura St. and 100 W. Bay St. next to Riverfront Plaza, is the title sponsor.

“This concert series brings much-needed energy to Downtown Jacksonville and helps us support our local small business community,” VyStar CEO Brian Wolfburg said.

The nonprofit Jessie Ball duPont Fund, JAX Chamber and construction contractor Danis also sponsor the event.

“We encourage citizens to enjoy the music, artists, dining, riverfront views, and everything Downtown has to offer,” Mayor Lenny Curry said.
