Bank of America continues to renovate its Jacksonville Operations Center as part of its estimated $150 million update.

The city issued two permits Aug. 15 for $8.64 million in job costs for 48,311 square feet of space among two buildings at the 9000 Southside Blvd. campus, near The Avenues mall.

Marand Builders Inc. will renovate 25,911 square feet on the fourth floor in Building 200 at $4.44 million.

It also will renovate 22,400 square feet on the fourth floor of Building 300 at almost $4.2 million.

Those follow the first six permits for about 170,000 square feet among four buildings. The city issued those Oct. 18-28, 2021, at $18.1 million.

The North Carolina-based financial services organization said in October it will renovate and update the 800,000 square feet of space it leases among five buildings.

Bank of America Jacksonville President Mark Bennett said Oct. 18, 2021, the three-year renovation project “demonstrates our ongoing commitment to being part of the Jacksonville community and our continuous efforts to make Bank of America a great place to work for our employees.”

The center houses part of the bank’s customer contact operations call center and technology-operations support.

The company confirmed it will add a parking garage, but that is not part of the $150 million project.
