The city issued a permit July 29 for the former Millhouse Restaurant near Jacksonville International Airport to be remodeled into the Flying Fish Taphouse.
Tannam Inc. of Atlantic Beach is the contractor for the $235,000 project to convert the 5,990-square-foot restaurant, which was built in 2005 at 1341 Airport Road.
Plans show 221 seats, including the dining area and bar seating.
Doherty Sommers Architects Engineers Inc. of Jacksonville is the architect.
The city issued a sign permit July 8.
It is reviewing a permit for a 1,448-square-foot addition and a beer cooler.
QBS Investments LLC of Jacksonville Beach is listed as the owner. The company is led by James Franks, who has been associated with several restaurants, according to state corporate records.
QBS Investments bought the property March 11 for $924,900 from First Federal Bank in Lake City, according to a deed recorded with the Duval County Clerk of Courts.
