Texas Roadhouse intends to replace the closed Logan’s Roadhouse in River City Marketplace in North Jacksonville and open in fall 2022.
Texas Roadhouse filed plans with the city to demolish the existing restaurant and build a 7,647-square-foot structure on almost 1.6 acres at 13130 City Station Drive.
It includes a 476-square-foot patio, creating a 8,123-square-foot project.
Texas Roadhouse Holdings LLC of Louisville, Kentucky, is shown as the developer. Atwell LLC of Marietta, Georgia, is the civil engineer.
The chain said the restaurant will employ 220 workers.
City records show the Logan’s Roadhouse was built in 2011.
The restaurant would become the area’s third Texas Roadhouse. The first two are in the Town Center area and in Orange Park.
A company spokesperson said the support for its Town Center and Orange Park locations and visibility off Interstate 95 prompted it to choose the River City Marketplace site.
Texas Roadhouse says it opened in 1993 in Indiana. The vision was to create a Texas-style restaurant.
It has grown to more than 580 locations in 49 states and 22 international locations.
It says it is known for its hand-cut steaks, ribs, sides, freshly baked bread, cold beer and margaritas.
One set of plans filed with the city refers to the address at River City Marketplace as 13150 City Station Drive, but that is the neighboring restaurant where Sticky Fingers Ribhouse operated.
Juicy Crab franchisee Leo Chen said that building is under renovation.
Thejuicycrab.com says the location is coming soon.
