NAI Hallmark announced the sale Oct. 5 of the former Quality Foods Plus grocery at 27 E. Seventh St. in Springfield for $2.375 million.

The property, which has been vacant for more than a decade, comprises a 65,879-square-foot building on 2.77 acres and an additional 0.3-acre parcel. Duval County Clerk of Courts records show the building was built in 1932.

The release said the buyer was Hollywood-based Urban Capital Realty, LLC and the seller was TSG Realty in Jacksonville. Court records show the property owned by Setzers Eighth Street Corp. at TSG’s address.

NAI Hallmark Senior Associate Eric Yi and Vice President Austin Kay brokered the transaction on behalf of the seller.

“This property presents itself as a great redevelopment opportunity as it sits in the heart of historic Springfield, adjacent to the main drag of shops, restaurants, breweries, etc. on Main St.,” Yi said in the release.

“As the market continues to grow, opportunities for big blocks of space like this are becoming limited. I expect investors and developers to continue seeking out properties for creative projects that fit the fabric of the neighborhood.”
