People on the Move: Miller named Swisher president and CEO; Palcic joins Jaguars; Historical Society hires Bourcier

John J. Miller will serve as Swisher’s president and CEO. Miller has served in senior leadership during his tenure at Jacksonville-based Swisher, including as president since 2017.

Jacksonville City Council approved Mayor Lenny Curry’s appointment of Abel Harding to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority board of directors. He will serve a four-year term on the board, filling the vacancy from former board Chair Isaiah Rumlin, whose term ended in 2020. Harding is the market president for IberiaBank and First Horizon Bank.

Amy Palcic, formerly of the Houston Texans, joined the Jacksonville Jaguars on Feb. 25 as the team’s vice president of football communications, assuming the senior PR role previously held by Dan Edwards. Edwards was named senior vice president of Jacksonville Tradition and Alumni. Edwards will report to Jaguars President Mark Lamping while Palcic will report to head coach Urban Meyer and General Manager Trent Baalke.

Charlie Latham joined Clay County as director of environmental services. He served as mayor of Jacksonville Beach for two terms.

GreenPointe Holdings LLC promoted Chris Rusnak to vice president, accounting and investor relations.

Crowley Maritime Corp. promoted Dan Warner to chief financial officer, consolidating financial strategy, resources and services under his leadership.

Acosta appointed Mike Van Aken as chief human resources officer to oversee the company’s HR division, including talent acquisition and deployment, talent management, diversity and inclusion and HR operations.

First Community Mortgage in St. Augustine named Cassidy Spencer as vice president.

First Florida Credit Union named Ashleigh Robinson as community relations and member development manager.

The Jacksonville Historical Society hired Paul Bourcier as the nonprofit’s music history coordinator.

The Chappell Schools board of directors announced that CEO Nancy Dreicer will retire June 1 after eight years in the position. Sue Harms, Chappell’s recently retired chief financial officer, will be the interim CEO.

University of North Florida biology professor Dale Casamatta received an $88,540 grant from the National Science Foundation to continue his research on algal mats.

Tom Caron has joined The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida as director of donor services.

NAI Hallmark expanded its multifamily investment sales team with the appointment of John Rutherford as senior vice president of multifamily investment sales and Luke McCann as senior associate.

Reputation Ink promoted Steven Gallo from content marketing manager to director of content and PR. Shelby Gambrell was promoted from client services manager to director of account services.

Florida Eye Specialists, a multispecialty eye practices in North Florida, added doctors Kathryn Freidl, McGregor Lott and Kenzo Koike as partners to the practice.
