American Electrical Contracting Inc. purchased a warehouse and office space at 9016 Philips Highway that will become the company’s new corporate headquarters and consolidated facility.

The $3.4 million deal closed March 12. It was brokered by Jeffrey Evans at Greene Commercial Real Estate Group. The seller was MatrixOneSource, which will move to its new space before July when American Electrical will relocate.

“The new headquarters allows us to continue to grow and provides greater flexibility and space for office staff and its crews,” said David Yencarelli, chief operating officer of American Electrical Contracting, in a news release.

“This facility also provides more visibility in a prominent light industrial location and solidifies our commitment to Northeast Florida.”

The 3.4-acre property comprises three buildings totaling 20,500 square feet. It includes office and warehouse space, a crew fitness center and locker rooms and parking/controlled storage.

The facility is double the size of the company’s site at 5065 St. Augustine Road.

American Electrical said in the release it has 152 employees and more master electricians than any other electrical contractor in Northeast Florida.

The Jacksonville-based company works on projects from single-family homes to large-scale new construction commercial and industrial projects.

It installed one of the largest scoreboards in the NFL for the Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field, completed JTA’s Regional Transportation Center in LaVilla and contracted on other projects for universities, hospitals and large-scale manufacturers.

American Electrical Contracting performs work across Florida and the Southeast and plans to add offices in Orlando, Tampa, and Savannah, Georgia.

The company said it will make improvements to the new headquarters in 2021 and plans to add American Electrical Academy, a preapprenticeship training center.
