The Home Depot wants to open a delivery center in Northwest Jacksonville after it builds-out the facility in Perimeter West Industrial Park at northeast Interstate 295 and Pritchard Road
Plans call it The Home Depot MDO Facility, for market delivery operations.
A spokesperson for Atlanta-based Home Depot said the center “is part of our strategic investment in our supply chain network to offer same day/next day delivery to 90% of the United States.”
The statement said the home improvement retailer is not sharing further details for now.
The city is reviewing a permit application for FCL Builders Inc. to build-out 66,990 square feet of space for the facility at 4345 Perimeter Industrial Parkway in Northwest Jacksonville.
Plans show a $1.67 million construction cost. Nelco Architecture Inc. of Alpharetta, Georgia, is the architect. FCL Builders is in Itasca, Illinois.
The space is in a 155,820-square-foot building that Atlanta-based Rooker developed in 2019. The Home Depot will occupy Suite 100.
Plans show the remaining almost 90,000 square feet of space is available for lease, represented by the JLL commercial brokerage company.
An Aug. 10 job description on ZipRecruiter.com for the Market Delivery Operations manager in Ashland, Virginia, said the position is responsible for leading all aspects of the cross-dock distribution center operation.
It says the position will lead a team of 20-40 associates to execute the daily receiving of inbound customer orders, staging the orders and processing outbound deliveries to customers.
