The developer building the Publix-anchored East San Marco shopping center sold an adjacent 1.03-acre property Aug. 12 to homebuilder Toll Brothers for $2 million.
Toll Brothers announced plans in March for a 27-unit town house community on the property.
East San Marco LLC sold the site to Toll Southeast LP Company Inc., managed by Toll Brothers, according to a deed recorded with the Duval County Clerk of Court on Aug. 13.
The property, bounded by Atlantic Boulevard Arcadia Place, Alford Place and Minerva Avenue, is east of East San Marco.
Plans show five town house buildings comprising four with six units each and one with three.
“San Marco is one of the top locations in Northeast Florida and Jacksonville,” Toll Brothers division president Steve Merten said in March.
“We felt that our brand (and townhome design) would complement San Marco by building luxury townhomes, with a low maintenance lifestyle, within walking distance to San Marco Square, where residents can enjoy all of the conveniences and activities available within the area.”
The price point for the town houses has not been determined.
