Retail Notes: More Dollar Generals planned; Camel to former RaceTrac site

Pritchard, Blanding and Northwest Jacksonville gaining stores.

Dollar General stores are coming to Pritchard, Blanding and Northwest Jacksonville.

The city issued a permit July 22 for Concept Construction to build a 9,100-square-foot store on almost an acre at 9075 Pritchard Road at a cost of $475,000.

The city is reviewing a permit application for construction of a 10,640-square-foot Dollar General store on 1.47 acres at 5590 Blanding Blvd., south of 103rd Street, at a cost of $551,809.

HSC Jax Blanding LLC of Daphne, Alabama, is the developer.

In Northwest Jacksonville, Concept Development Inc. submitted plans for a 10,460-square-foot store on 2.16 acres at southeast Norfolk Boulevard and Soutel Drive.

And at 2305 Edgewood Ave. N., the Jacksonville Planning Commission is reviewing a zoning exception request for retail sales and outside display for a 10,640-square-foot Concept Development retail store.

Camel to former RaceTrac site

Camel Premium Express Car Wash wants to build at 5109 University Blvd. W. at the site of a closed RaceTrac gas station and convenience store.

Camel wants to demolish the existing structures and build a 3,604-square-foot automated tunnel car wash, according to request to JEA for service availability.

RaceTrac built a larger location nearby.
