Seven attorneys submitted applications for the vacancy created by the retirement June 30 of Duval County Judge Ronald Higbee.
They are:
• Corrine Anne Bylund is manager of Bylund Law in Jacksonville Beach. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and Florida Coastal School of Law, she was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2005.
• Margaret Gibbs Gulliford is an assistant state attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit. Gulliford graduated from the University of Florida and Stetson University College of Law. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2012.
• Matthew Ian Lufrano is owner of Lufrano Legal in Jacksonville. He graduated from the University of Florida and the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2009.
• Adina Lea Pollan is owner of Pollan Legal in Jacksonville. A graduate of Emory University and the University of Florida Levin College of Law, she was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2005.
• Jonathan David Sacks is an assistant state attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond in Virginia, a master’s in criminology from Floria State University and his J.D. from FSU College of Law. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2002.
• Julie Kae Taylor is general counsel, special magistrate and civil traffic infraction hearing officer for the 4th Judicial Circuit. She graduated from the University of Florida and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1996.
• Susan Faris Zerbe is an assistant public defender in the 4th Judicial Circuit. A graduate of the University of Florida and Florida State University College of Law, Zerbe was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2006.
The applicants will be interviewed by the 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission at a date to be determined. The commission will submit up to six nominees to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who will appoint Higbee’s successor.
All commission proceedings are open to the public except for deliberations after the interviews.
