JetBlue said April 21 it will offer nonstop flights from Jacksonville to New York City’s LaGuardia Airport beginning in October.
“New York is one of the most popular destinations on the East Coast for Northeast Florida travelers,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh said in a news release.
“Whether traveling for business or pleasure, passengers now have more options and will see lower fares.”
The airline did not say on what date the service will begin.
JetBlue is launching direct flights to LaGuardia from several airports. including Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, Nashville International Airport and Portland International Jetport.
The airline already offers nonstop service from Jacksonville to the New York area’s two other airports, John F. Kennedy International and Newark Liberty International Airport.
JetBlue began offering nonstop flights from JAX to Los Angeles International Airport on March 25.
JetBlue will be the second carrier to offer nonstop service to LaGuardia. On June 5, Delta will begin offering nonstop flights from Jacksonville to the airport, according to the airline’s website.
