A Michigan-based real estate investment trust purchased the 76-acre Flamingo Lake RV Resort in North Jacksonville for $18.75 million.
Southfield, Michigan-based Sun Communities Inc., through affiliate Sun Flamingo Lake RV LLC, acquired the property July 14 and recorded the deed Sept. 28.
Flamingo Lake, at 3640 Newcomb Road northwest of Interstate 295 and Lem Turner Road, features a 17-acre lake with sand beaches, RV sites, cabin rentals, campsites, a clubhouse, fitness center, food service, store, pool, a pavilion, restrooms and a playground.
Sun Communities bought nine parcels comprising the established resort from four Jacksonville-based entities: Flamingo Lake RV Resort Inc., Flamingo Lake LLC, Flamingo R&M LLC and WRF Inc., led by Raymond Lane.
Sun Communities is a REIT that acquires, develops and operates manufactured home, vacation home, campgrounds and RV communities across the U.S. and Ontario, Canada. Sun became a publicly traded company in 1993 and owns more than 400 properties.
