Jared Burns joined the Abel Bean Law firm as an associate attorney.
Admitted to The Florida Bar in 2017, he is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and a former law clerk for U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan in Jacksonville.
Burns was an editor of the Florida Law Review and president of the Military Law Student Association. He is an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman hired Sabrina Marcos Smith as an associate attorney in the law firm’s Jacksonville office.
Smith represents people and businesses in commercial litigation matters, including breach of contracts, corporate disputes and fraud disputes.
Before joining Lippes Mathias, she was an assistant state attorney in the State Attorney’s Office for the 4th Judicial Circuit in Jacksonville.
Smith received her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and her bachelor’s from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She is a member of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and a 2019 graduate of Leadership Jacksonville, Next Generation.

Attorneys in the firm’s offices in 39 states and Puerto Rico raised more than $30,000 for No Kid Hungry, a national nonprofit.
