The NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association Northeast Florida Chapter announced March 16 it will reschedule its events over the next two months because of COVID-19.

Mayor Lenny Curry announced Monday he is limiting crowd capacity of recreational and social gatherings and establishments to 50 people to minimize the spread of the new coronavirus.

The NAIOP events being rescheduled and the tentative target dates are:

• The March 31 quarterly luncheon will move to June or July.

• The April 16 Downtown Tour and Tasting will move to November.

• The May 15 Beach Bash will move to June or July.

Members who have registered for the events will have their payments applied to the rescheduled date. Members who want to cancel and receive a refund can contact NAIOP at [email protected].

“We will follow guidelines and recommendations given by city, state and healthcare leadership to minimize the spread,” said chapter President Trey Wilson in a letter to members.

“Additionally, we will continue to assess the situation in hope that events will be able to resume sooner.  Further updates will be provided as warranted,” he said.

Wilson urged members to take precautions.

“Our main concern is the health and the well-being of our members and the community,” he said.
