In a memorandum issued June 8, State Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Canady extended the suspension of grand juries, jury selection and criminal and civil jury trials through July 27.
A second amended order issued June 8 requires the court circuits participating in the remote civil jury trial pilot program to report findings and recommendations by Oct. 2.
The 4th Judicial Circuit of Clay, Duval and Nassau counties participates in the pilot program.
Canady will continue to review court-related COVID-19 issues as the pandemic emergency develops and may modify or extend them as needed because of changing conditions.
Statewide and local court emergency orders and advisories are available on the Florida Supreme Court’s website: https://www.floridasupremecourt.org/Emergency
