4th Circuit seat on Florida Bar board open for election

Nominations must be filed by Feb. 14.

Attorney Michael Tanner, one of two representatives on The Florida Bar board of governors, has resigned, creating an opportunity in the 2020 Bar election.

Tanner, a candidiate for president-elect of the state Bar, was finishing out a two-year term on the board.

The office commences on June 19 and continues for a term ending June 25, 2021, or until a successor is elected and qualifies.

Nominating petitions for the vacancy must be filed with the executive director before 5 p.m. Feb. 14.

Petitions must be signed by no fewer than five members in good standing whose official Bar address is in the 4th Circuit, comprising Clay, Duval and Nassau counties.

Election ballots will be emailed or mailed on or before Feb. 28 and voted ballots must be received before midnight March 23.
