There’s some indication of what might be planned at the former FBI building along the Arlington Expressway – apartments.
JEA is reviewing a service availability request to see what utility connections exist to serve a potential 120-room multifamily development.
The requested service is electric, water, sewer and reuse.

The six-story, almost 94,000-square-foot building was built in 1975 at 7820 Arlington Expressway.
It was leased to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Jacksonville field office until the FBI moved in 2009 to a government-owned building at 6061 Gate Parkway.
Kozman Realty Inc., with an address in Canada, paid $1.2 million for the vacant building on 4.8 acres. The deed was executed Sept. 26.
It has not returned calls for comment about its plans.
The city issued a permit Nov. 13 for All American Debris & Wrecking LLC to gut the interior of the building at a cost of $275,000. The permit lists the proposed use as storage.
All American Debris was cleared to demolish the interior and remove some of the exterior elements. The plumbing system will remain, the permit shows.
Kozman Realty is led by Marc Peter Kozman and Barthina Kozman. Miami-based Bnei Zipora Inc. sold the property to Kozman Realty. A quitclaim deed shows the group acquired the property in 2017 for $250,000.
The LoopNet.com commercial real estate site said the Class C office building had been vandalized and without power, “adding to the demise of its visible condition.”
The site said the building could be useful to “a savvy value-add investor” who would recognize it has a better use or could be held for development.
