An unidentified grocery store is proposed for eTown, the master-planned Southside community designed for up to 2,000 homes.
The site is along E-Town Parkway, east of Florida 9B.
While no name is shown on plans filed with the city, the size – 43,387 square feet – fits Publix Super Markets Inc.
The Lakeland-based grocer says it has no plans that show a site there, but doesn’t rule out the location as one of interest.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to best serve our customers,” said Publix Director of Communications Maria Brous.
Eastland Timber LLC is the landowner. E-Town Development Inc., part of The PARC Group, is the developer.
England, Thims & Miller Inc. is the civil engineer.
The PARC Group is developing eTown as well as Nocatee, where Publix leases a store. Publix also opened a GreenWise Market there.
The PARC Group had no comment about the eTown supermarket.
The plans filed with the city also show a 12,000-square-foot retail building near the Publix for lease to tenants.
The location is in The Exchange at eTown, the commercial element of the project at E-Town Parkway and Florida 9B.

The city issued a mobility fee calculation certificate for the 17.1-acre project, shown along the parkway between Apex Trail and Exchange Street.
Baptist Health kicked off commercial plans for The Exchange in February when it said it bought 3.5 acres there. It will start with primary care at the site.
Gate Petroleum Co. then proposed a 6,500-square-foot gas station and convenience store with 20 fueling positions on 2.16 acres near the Baptist Health site.
ETown’s residential neighborhoods include the Del Webb, Nobel, Kettering, Marconi and Edison single-family home communities; the Newton townhouses; and the Menlo apartments.
ETown markets itself as a smart-living community built around technology connections. Neighborhoods are named after inventors.
Homebuilders include Pulte Homes, Toll Brothers, David Weekley Homes and ICI Homes.
