Arlington Toyota is expanding and rebuilding its presence along Atlantic Boulevard, transforming the northeast corner of Atlantic Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road.
Plans show the dealership intends to build a two-story, almost 60,000-square-foot showroom and renovate its existing dealership structures at 10939 Atlantic Blvd.
The city is reviewing permit applications that indicate a possible job cost of $9.1 million.
Two retail and office-flex buildings facing Atlantic Boulevard will be demolished and a new showroom, parts department and service stalls will be built.
The dealership was built in 1999. The shopping center and office-flex space, purchased by Arlington Realty LLC, was built in 1984.
The city and the St. Johns River Water Management District are reviewing plans and permit applications for the 12.41-acre site.
Arlington Toyota will renovate the existing dealership for service, parts and internet sales, while another building will be expanded with new paint booths.
The permits comprise a new dealership of 50,170 square feet of enclosed space and 9,017 square feet of unenclosed space; renovations to the existing dealership and collision center; and other smaller structures.
The property is owned by Arlington Realty LLC.
