Jacksonville-based Campers Inn RV announced Friday the acquisition of Dick Gore’s RV World.
The deal includes three dealerships in Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Richmond Hill, Georgia.
“We are extremely enthusiastic to be welcoming Dick Gore’s customers and team to the Campers Inn RV family both here in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia,” said Ben Hirsch, chief operating officer for Campers Inn RV, in a news release.
The former Dick Gore dealerships will remain open as they transition into the Campers Inn RV organization, the news release said.
With the acquisition, Campers Inn RV has six locations in Northeast and Central Florida, four locations in Georgia and 26 locations nationwide.
Founded in 1966, family-owned Campers Inn RV moved its headquarters from Kingston, New Hampshire, to Jacksonville, receiving $132,000 in city and state incentives in 2016.
“The Jacksonville community has been terrific since we moved most of our headquarters here three years ago,” Hirsh said.
“This acquisition, when combined with our existing store in Jacksonville, now makes Campers Inn RV the largest RV dealer in the Jacksonville,” he said.
Dick Gore’s RV World was founded in 1984. Gore’s son, Richard, continued to run the company after his father’s death in 2002.
“I’m happy that in this new venture, the staff of Dick Gore’s RV World will continue to serve the needs of our customers in the North Florida/Georgia area,” said Richard Gore, president and CEO of Dick Gore’s RV World.
“I will miss my colleagues and friends and I hope to see them again in the future. I wish them all the best of luck.”
