Marconi and Edison are the names of the first two neighborhoods to be built in eTown, a 1,478-acre mixed-use community in southern Duval County.
The announcement, via email and social media, said David Weekley Homes and ICI Homes are partnering to build homes in Marconi and Toll Brothers will build in Edison.
Marconi homes will start in the mid-$300,000s on 50- and 60-foot-wide lots.
Homes in Edison will start in the high-$300,000s with one- or two-story designs from 2,500 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet.
The announcement said the communities will open in summer 2019. Officials with eTown, David Weekley, ICI and Toll Brothers did not respond to requests for comment.
David Weekley and Toll Brothers bought property in eTown east of Interstate 295 and Florida 9B. The release did not say how many homes the builders would construct.
Other residential builders also have plans for eTown. Catalyst Development Partners will build apartments and Pulte bought property but has not announced plans.
The PARC Group is developing eTown for the Davis family, which owns the land through Eastland Timber LLC.
The property primarily is east of I-295 and Florida 9B, with some property to the west.
