State honors the North Florida Land Trust: The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation honored the land trust with the 2018 Florida Preservation Organizational Achievement Award for the acquisition and preservation of the 1898 Spanish American War Fort in Jacksonville.

Hurricane debris: The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved a grant of $2.6 million to reimburse Jacksonville and St. Johns County for Hurricane Matthew debris removal.

Ronald McDonald House fundraiser: The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville celebrated its 30th anniversary with The McGala fundraising event May 19. The event raised more than $300,000 to support the families of critically ill children. 

Armada launches coffee:  The Jacksonville Armada, in partnership with Ubora Coffee Roasters, a veteran-owned and operated roastery,  now offers three blends of Jacksonville Armada Coffee.

Teachers honored: Four Jacksonville teachers received the Gladys Prior Award for excellence in teaching. Mary Beth Jones, Darellee Naccarato, Joan Bacon and Virginia Dickert each receive $15,000 with the award.

Four more years for Web.com Tournament: The Web.com Tour Championship at Atlantic Beach Country Club has been extended by The PGA Tour through 2021.

Sulzbacher Village opens: Sulzbacher Center and Hunt Capital Partners collaborated to open Sulzbacher Village, a 70-unit affordable housing development for homeless women and families. Sulzbacher Village is at 5455 Springfield Blvd. 

Credit union honored: Jax Federal Credit Union was awarded the 2018 America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence. The designation is awarded to financial institutions that have succeeded in influencing people to open and add to wealth-building accounts.

RS&H acquires Colorado-based Tsiouvaras Simmons and Holderness Inc.: The acquisition of TSH expands RS&H’s services in Colorado to include transportation engineering and consulting.

Crowley Maritime Group creates a new shipping service: The service connects San Juan, Puerto Rico, with Rio Haina, Dominican Republic and St. Croix and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
