Inside and out, the signs are up as work continues on Morton’s The Steakhouse at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Goldcon Inc. of North Miami Beach is the contractor to renovate almost 6,900 square feet of space in the Downtown hotel at 225 E. Coastline Drive. Morton’s is taking over the space once occupied by Plaza III The Steakhouse, which closed in 2009. Morton’s is based in Houston and previously operated on the Southbank. It closed in early 2012 as part of shutdowns after a change in ownership. The Morton’s website says the Jacksonville building is “coming soon.”
