Applying for the Leadership Academy was a professional leap of faith and has proven to be exactly what I needed. It has been eye-opening to get a behind-the-scenes view of the workings of the Bar and to see how I can contribute to the important work the Bar does. We are only halfway through Class IV, but participating in the Leadership Academy already has had an amazing personal and professional impact. The insights I have gained are invaluable, not to mention the incredible network I have developed with like-minded individuals across the state. Something else I learned is do not be discouraged if you do not get in the first time. I was not accepted on my first try, but am so glad that I stuck with it and reapplied. Membership in the academy has provided the fellows an opportunity to refine our leadership abilities so we can continue to carry the torch of the illustrious predecessors that have led this state before us. The academy provides a more enhanced learning experience that is beyond surface level that in turn has prepared us to handle the many facets of leadership.
