The first week of January is a busy one for the Jacksonville Symphony, with four concerts through Saturday night.
The performances begin Thursday, with Symphony in 60: Mozart and McGill. Free cocktails are at 5:30 p.m. and the hour-long concert is at 6:30 p.m., followed by an after-party, also with free cocktails. The concert features New York Philharmonic principal clarinetist Anthony McGill.
The Coffee Series is 11 a.m. Friday, featuring Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 in D major and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 7.
The Florida Blue MasterWorks Series Mozart and McGill is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

New date, same fun for Light Boat Parade Downtown
Moving the 32nd annual Light Boat Parade to coincide with the TaxSlayer Bowl didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the event.
The parade was moved this year from the Friday after Thanksgiving to the night before Saturday’s bowl game.
Fans from the University of Kentucky and Georgia Tech shared the riverfront with residents as the colorful vessels made their way up the St. Johns River. The boats ranged from kayaks to houseboats.
Capt. Charlie Caulk’s “Navy F-18 Fighter Jet” won the overall grand prize.

Pineapple Corp. breaks ground at The Vista at Twenty Mile
The Pineapple Corp. broke ground on its first model in The Vista at Twenty Mile, a gated neighborhood of 44 homes in Ponte Vedra.
Two models are planned to open in the spring, with construction of the second model beginning soon. Presales are underway.
Homes in The Vista, built exclusively by The Pineapple Corp., start in the low $900,000s. The community features five new courtyard-style floor plans from 4,000 to more than 5,500 square feet.
The Vista will offer estate-style homes on secluded preservation land, featuring Spanish architecture that highlights the history of Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine.

25-year banking veteran hired as vice president at FirstAtlantic Bank
Mike Dailey has joined FirstAtlantic Bank as vice president, senior commercial banker.
Most recently with SunTrust Bank, Dailey brings 25 years of financial services experience to FirstAtlantic, according to a news release.
He received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
FirstAtlantic President and CEO Mitchell Hunt Jr. said Dailey’s “wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry will be instrumental in helping our company continue to grow in Northeast Florida.”

Moulder and Patel join Walker & Dunlop
Brian Moulder and Dhaval Patel joined Walker & Dunlop Inc. to market and sell multifamily properties in Florida and the region.
Walker & Dunlop Executive Vice President Greg Engler said in a news release the move is an expansion for the company into North Florida, with Moulder leading the effort.
Moulder and Patel, who previously worked for CBRE, are senior vice presidents and managing directors with Walker & Dunlop.
They have a combined 25 years of commercial real estate experience and have been involved in the marketing and sale of more than $5 billion in multifamily properties and land, the release said.
