Workers started processing orders at Amazon’s fulfillment center at 12900 Pecan Park Road in North Jacksonville. The 1,500-job center, which is near Jacksonville International Airport, handles small consumer items.

On Sunday, the first wave of nearly 350 workers rolled out the “orange carpet,” partied with Jacksonville Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville, and were introduced to the facility’s leaders, Bernard Schmidt and Mike Bauer.
Amazon said the first item received for inventory was a Tactical Portable Powerlight and the first customer order shipped was a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
