As all good tailgates go, Florida-Georgia (it’s always Florida first) is a time to catch up with friends over food and football and hopefully, a big Gator win. When I first came to Jacksonville, you may have found me on my boat at the Landing, rafting up to five boats deep. But I’ve moved to tailgating closer to the stadium, still with the comaraderie of my Gainesville friends from the very beginning mixed with new friends we’ve made living in Jacksonville these past 10 years. Go Gators!

Florida-Georgia weekend always turns into a big celebration with friends and family traveling in from out of town. Friday, my husband, Michael, and I either host a party or go to the oyster roast at San Jose Country Club or the kick-off party at Epping Forest. Saturday is all about tailgating at the stadium. This year, we will have our second annual Plata Schott Law tailgate behind the baseball stadium. Come see us.

This year I’ll be helping the Chester Bedell Inn of Court host two barristers from London who are Pegasus Scholars. In addition to learning about our legal system, the scholars will attend the Florida-Georgia moot court competition, the JBA Dueling Deans luncheon, the GrayRobinson party, various tailgates and will be guests in the McGuireWoods box for the game.
