Two more developments – apartments and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers – appear to be joining the Town Center Promenade.
TriBridge Residential, already with a Jacksonville multifamily track record, has submitted plans to develop a proposed 287-unit apartment community at the Southside shopping center across from St. Johns Town Center.
Site plans and a St. Johns River Water Management District application show three four-story buildings and an amenity center on 9.06 acres.
The site is along the west side of Town Center Parkway between Brightman Boulevard and Midtown Parkway.
The apartments comprise one building of 159 units and two of 64 units on the lakefront. Amenities include a pool.
Atlanta-based Core Property Capital is developing Town Center Promenade, which also will include an Aldi grocery store, Tru by Hilton hotel, Texas de Brazil and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews restaurants and other retailers and restaurants.
Freddy’s is one of those. A sign was put up at the site that it would be “coming soon.”
Franchise operator Kyle Gerstner said in a statement that he was in the early planning stages for a location at the Town Center Promenade.
He said development details were not finalized, “but we hope we’re able to formally announce a timeline and more information soon.”
The franchisee said two years ago he might build up to 15 Freddy’s locations in the metro area over 10 years.
There are two area Freddy’s now – at 14016 Beach Blvd. in South Jacksonville and at 386 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park.
TriBridge and Core Property Capital have not responded to several calls for comment.
Among its track record, TriBridge also developed the 170-unit BluWater apartments in Jacksonville Beach.
The TriBridge apartments at Town Center Promenade will be north of another new multifamily community in the adjoining The Strand at Town Center.
Stanmore Partners of Houston will develop the 306-unit project on about 6 acres at 4674 Town Center Parkway.

The closed Krispy Kreme in Arlington will become an Arby’s.

Belk starts closing sale at Roosevelt Square
Belk started its going-out-of-business sale Sunday at its Roosevelt Square store in West Jacksonville.
Belk announced in July it would close the store in January, affecting more than 50 jobs.
Duval County issued a permit for the sale Nov. 7. It is authorized from Nov. 13 through Jan. 13.
The sale starts with an extra 25 percent off the lowest ticketed price storewide, with 75 percent off fine jewelry and clearance. There are some exceptions, and no coupons will be honored during the closing sale.
Hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-7 p.m. Sunday.
Belk, based in Charlotte, N.C., filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Notice with the state July 6 that 52 jobs would be cut Dec. 30 through Jan. 15.
Spokeswoman Jessica Graham said then the company decided to close the store after evaluating its business plans and competitive position in the area market.
She said store associates in good standing were offered a transfer to another store. Any who does not choose to transfer will be offered a severance package, she said.
The Roosevelt Square store, at 4535 Roosevelt Blvd., is one of five area Belk stores. The others are in Atlantic North, The Avenues, Orange Park Mall and the Ponce de Leon Mall in St. Augustine.
Belk opened at Roosevelt Square in 1998.
