Spokeswoman Elizabeth Cordell said 1,250 people received free popcorn, a total of more than 468 pounds of Peterbrooke’s signature confection.
In addition, in keeping with the St. Patrick’s Day Art Walk theme, more than 3,000 pieces of candy were given to people who came into the store wearing green clothing.
“We didn’t expect that many people to come through our doors and we loved it,” Cordell said.

The new routes will operate twice a week.
The year-round route starts June 2 to Indianapolis.
The seasonal routes are Columbus, Ohio: May 25-Aug. 13; Asheville, N.C.: May 27-Aug. 15; and St. Louis, via MidAmerica Airport: May 27-Aug. 15.
“After just a year in Northeast Florida, Allegiant has quickly grown their presence here,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Steve Grossman said. “They now provide nonstop service to nine cities from JAX. We are thrilled by today’s announcement and are thankful for the additional flights they offer our community.”
The free event is sponsored by the Captain’s Club and Jacksonville Sail and Power Squadron. The purpose is to bless boats for good weather and safe conditions. A wreath-laying ceremony will immediately follow the blessing.

The three-story, 66,500-square-foot dorm is at the college’s campus at 1 Malaga St. in Downtown St. Augustine.
The facility will have 148 rooms to accommodate 148 students.
The project also includes the construction of a five-level, 559-space parking garage on campus.
Construction is scheduled to start in May and be completed in August 2017.

The Junior Girls Money & Math Expo is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the campus at 3939 Roosevelt Blvd. Sessions include Business Start-Ups, financial literacy activities, a parents’ session and a mentoring lunch.
Girls ages 10-14 will be given the chance to join Junior Girls Business Start-Ups where they can learn about starting a business and money management. After completing a year, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their business at an expo in New York City in July 2017.
