The Pokemon Go craze that has people using their smartphones to virtually “catch ‘em all” has found its way to EverBank Field.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and FanDuel will host the first Pokemon Safari inside a major professional sports venue from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
It’s free and open to Pokemon trainers and members of the public who register in advance at jaguars.com/pokemon.
Pokemon “trainers” will be able to take a self-guided tour through the stadium, which ends with a celebration near the cabana section in the venue’s FanDuelVille. The first 1,000 fans who complete the tour will receive an exclusive gym badge.
Those attending are encouraged to use #pokemongojax in social media posts throughout the evening.
Parking will be available in Lots J, M and N.
St. Vincent’s adds designated parking spaces for veterans
St. Vincent’s HealthCare has added some specialized parking spaces to its lots, but they’re not typical spaces reserved for expectant mothers or the disabled. They’re for veterans.

St. Vincent’s is part of the Veterans Choice program, which allows veterans the option to receive care at the hospital’s Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia locations.
Symphony expands young professionals program
The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra's UpTempo program is receiving an up-tempo pace in the new season.
The program is designed to connect young professionals who have an interest in symphonic music. The changes to membership will provide more access and flexibility throughout the season.
Membership includes invitations to the Monthly Member Experiences event, four UpTempo concert vouchers, $25 tickets to all concerts and discounts to other “premier” symphony events.
The monthly member events start Sept. 30 with “The Rite of Spring,” followed by an Oct. 1 “Bachtoberfest” beer garden. At least one event is planned per month through May, revolving around a different theme or experience.
The changes come from member feedback after last year’s programs, said Jennifer Behr, symphony director of patron engagement.
Cost is $150 per person, $225 per household. For information, visit jaxsymphony.org/uptempo.

St. Johns River Ferry out of service next week
A haul out of the St. Johns River Ferry next week will result in the completion of several infrastructure repairs.
Scheduled Monday-July 31, the closure will allow finalization of vessel improvements and slip wall repairs.
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority took over the service from the city March 31 and has since completed landscaping renovations at the Mayport and Fort George landings.
Additionally, the MyJTA mobile ticketing app was integrated so customers can buy passes with their smartphones.
The less-than-a-mile ferry trip provides a link between Mayport and Heckscher Drive and generally departs every half hour.
