When Gov. Rick Scott delivers his State of the State address today, he’ll recognize two of Jacksonville’s own.
Dane Grey began Elite Parking Services in 2007 while a student at Jacksonville University.
The company provides outsourced valet parking for public agencies and businesses, using technology to lower client costs. Today, the company has 360 employees and locations across the nation.
Scott honored Grey last year with the governor’s Business Ambassador Award and in 2012 appointed him it for a four-year term on the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged.
Scott will also highlight Capt. Brian McDowell, an active Reserve member of the Florida National Guard who is serving in the 3rd Battalion of the 20th Special Forces Group out of Camp Blanding.
McDowell, who enlisted in 2000, has been deployed multiple times in support of operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
The governor’s address kicks off the 2016 legislative session. Scott this year will pitch a budget that includes $1 billion in tax cuts and $250 million in economic development.
