The lender for the 18-story BB&T Tower at 200 W. Forsyth St. Downtown gained control of the property at a foreclosure auction Thursday, according to court records.

The office tower had been owned by a group led by Norfolk, Va.-based Harbor Group International, which bought the building for $30.05 million in 2007, according to Duval County property records.

U.S. Bank, as trustee for the lenders on the property, filed a foreclosure lawsuit in Duval County Circuit Court in 2014.

Circuit Judge Kevin Blasz entered a judgment for U.S. Bank in December and ordered the foreclosure sale. The judgment said the property owners still owed $32.4 million on their loan.

When no other bids were received at Thursday's auction, the lending group gained control of the building, court documents show.
