First Coast Energy LLP wants to add another Daily’s gas station and convenience store along San Jose Boulevard, this time at Sunbeam Road.

The Jacksonville-based company paid $4.25 million for 5 acres at 9545 San Jose Blvd., according to a deed recorded Tuesday with the Duval County Clerk of Court.  It bought the property from Solomon Properties Inc.

First Coast Energy General Counsel Keith Daw said the existing structures on the property would remain and the Daily’s would be built on part of the site fronting San Jose Boulevard.

The 5,000-square-foot store would feature the Daily’s DASH food service and the site might have space for a car wash. Daw said there was no timetable for the development.

He said the company wants to increase its coverage along San Jose Boulevard.

It plans to redevelop a Shell station it owns at 5640 San Jose Blvd. as a Daily’s and it also bought land at 3973 Hendricks Ave. for new development.

Hendricks Avenue connects San Marco to San Jose Boulevard.

First Coast Energy also wants to build a Daily’s in the Fruit Cove and Julington Creek area.

Daw said there are 34 Daily’s stores in Northeast and Southeast Florida. The company owns or operates about 145 locations in Northeast and Southeast Florida.

He said that number includes third-party operators, which primarily operate Shell stations whose stores are smaller than a Daily’s.

First Coast Energy, which sells Shell fuels, was created in 1997 and Daily’s was created in 2003.
