It’s that time of year again.

For the past two years, the JBA Diversity Committee has acknowledged the commitment of individuals and legal employers in their inspiring efforts supporting diversity and inclusion.

The purpose of the Diversity Awards is to highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion in our legal community.

There are so many people and employers in this community who recognize and embrace the value that diversity adds to the legal profession, our work environments and communities — we firmly believe those individuals and legal employers should be awarded every year.

The awards have two categories: the Henry Lee Adams Jr. Diversity Trailblazer Award and the Diversity Champion.

The trailblazers are individuals or employers who zealously fought for equality in the face of great adversity and paved the way for others along the way.

Diversity champions are individuals and legal employers that work diligently to advance the efforts of diversity and inclusion.

The Diversity Committee is accepting nominations for this year’s awards.

Nomination forms and criteria are available through The Jacksonville Bar Association. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 12 to Amber R. Donley at [email protected].

The 2016 winners will be announced March 29 at The Jacksonville Bar Association luncheon at noon at the Omni Hotel. Florida Bar President Ramón Abadin is the speaker.
