Wawa is deep into plans for its site at The Crossing at Town Center.
Civil engineer England-Thims & Miller Inc. and developer PGP Jacksonville TC LCC submitted site plans to the St. Johns River Water Management District for the project. They also filed plans with the city.
A 6,119-square-foot Wawa gas station and convenience store is designed on 2.16 acres at Gate Parkway and Weebers Crossing Drive, within The Crossing site.
The location is where Town Center Parkway meets Gate Parkway. PGP’s The Strand at Town Center is at Town Center and Gate parkways.
Both The Crossing and The Strand are in the site-clearing stage and the city is reviewing building permits for structures there that will bring new retailers and restaurants to town as well as provide additional locations for existing stores.
Four locations have been identified for Wawa’s entrance into Northeast Florida next year.
Pennsylvania-based Wawa Inc. said in June it would roll into Northeast Florida with five stores by the end of 2017 and up to 30-40 locations over time.
Executives in June did not identify additional sites, but said six were under contract and another dozen were being reviewed.
Retail notes

The new CarbuX will feature a 120-foot-long tunnel with soft-foam technology that measures vehicles for precise cleaning.
