"Citizenship Day is my favorite Law Week activity. I have participated in this event each year for the last four years and I always look forward to it. The legal permanent residents from our community who come to the event for help completing their naturalization applications are enthusiastic, excited and proud to become American citizens. There is an air of

optimism that is contagious and when the event is over I always leave feeling like I have made a difference."

"For most of the elements of an excellent Law Week experience, I suggest attending the Edwards & Ragatz Jacksonville Area Legal Aid fundraiser from 5:30-8:30 p.m. May 5. For the suggested minimum donation of $25, (but you may give more, even up to your Florida Bar suggested $350 –– or more still), you will be supporting JALA, a worthy and vital part of our legal community. You’ll also enjoy a breezy, river scene with your friends and colleagues while tasting a few sips and bites of delicious drinks and food. Every year they outdo themselves and JALA receives 100 percent of the proceeds. See you there."

"The Law Day naturalization ceremony is my favorite Law Week event because it’s a refreshing and touching reminder of how great it is to be an American citizen and how hard so many have worked to become one. The room is always full of excitement with new citizens of all ages. If you have never been, I encourage you to attend. You won’t regret it."

"One of my favorite events during Law Week is the signing of the Law Day proclamation by the mayor and its subsequent reading at the Law Day luncheon. I enjoy the proclamation because it espouses the purpose of Law Day and allows for a moment of reflection on that purpose."

"My favorite Law Week activity is the annual Edward & Ragatz party benefiting JALA. I look forward to this gathering every year. It provides an opportunity to come together with colleagues and friends to celebrate our liberties in this country and our right to equal justice under the law guaranteed by our Constitution and the Bill of Rights."
