The second annual Old City Classic Charity Golf Tournament to benefit St. Johns Legal Aid was Sept. 29 at the Slammer & Squire course at World Golf Village.

The charity event, sponsored by Pycraft Law, turned out to be an unusually good day for the participating golfers.

It began with Mike Pelkowski of St. Augustine winning the putting contest, hosted by the Slammer & Squire Pro Shop.

Soon after, Judy McInnis hit a 100-yard hole-in-one. She won a two-year lease of a 2015 Lexus NX200, sponsored by Brumos Automotive.

Dan Greene won closest to the pin, Dan Mowrey won the longest drive and the winning team with the lowest score was Rick Jellison, Tom Flaherty, Ray Lauria and Randy Jacobs.

Megan Wall, the managing attorney of St. Johns County Legal Aid, said proceeds from the event would be used to provide civil legal services for the poor, elderly and disabled who cannot afford legal counsel.

After the tournament, an awards dinner — including a silent auction and wine pull — was held at the Raintree Restaurant. The reception included the swearing-in of new attorney Teira Henry by 7th Circuit Judge Howard O. McGillin Jr.

Sponsors of the tournament and dinner included The Raintree Restaurant, The Bailey Group, Select Mediation, Canan Law, Hybrid Design, Brumos Automotive, Beaches 105.5, Wyland Galleries, Harbor Community Bank, Burkhardt Sales & Service, Pycraft Law, Taylormade Golf Factory Store and San Sebastian Winery.
