Fidelity Investments didn’t look far to lease space for the 300 jobs it plans to hire by yearend 2018.

The company said it has completed a lease for more than 50,000 square feet of office space in Deerwood North Building 100 — across from the Building 400 it leases for its existing 800 employees.

Both structures are part of the Deerwood North office campus at 4600-4601 Touchton Road E., near Butler and Southside boulevards.

Jennifer Chapman, Fidelity Investments public affairs director for the Florida area, said Tuesday the company occupies the majority of Building 400.

Fidelity Investments applied for city and state incentives to add the jobs, which would pay an average annual salary of $64,356. The company said it will invest at least $13 million in real estate improvements, IT equipment, furniture and other items.

It said it also would renovate its existing space.

City Council approved Tuesday $2.6 million in city and state incentives to add the financial services, investment banking and IT support jobs.

The city will provide $488,000, comprising a $128,000 Recapture Enhanced Value grant and up to $360,000 for a Qualified Target Industry tax refund.

The state will pay $2.13 million, comprising up to $1.44 million for its share of the QTI payments and up to $690,000 for a Quick Response Training Grant.
