How did you become involved? My son plays football and I wanted to experience this activity with him. Volunteering as a team mom is a great way to be involved with him in a competitive team environment.
How can someone else become involved? Pop Warner is a national youth football and cheer organization that is offered to children throughout Jacksonville by various local associations. It runs predominantly with the help of volunteers: coaches, team moms, gate and concession workers. You can volunteer when your child signs up to participate or check out southeastpopwarner.com to learn more about local associations and their volunteer needs.
What have you learned/achieved through this experience? First and foremost, patience. It also is very rewarding to participate with my son in this capacity. You can really see firsthand how sports can help children learn and develop.
What was the last book you read or are reading? “Living History” by Hillary Clinton
