"For me, staying active is like breathing. It’s part of my DNA. Pursuing outdoor activities from the woods to the water is autonomic. I live for horseback riding (even barn mucking), hiking, biking, golfing, gardening, SUP boarding and kayaking. In between, yoga and walking my dog keeps me happy. Regretfully, I have given up skydiving (for those who always ask)."

"Sessions with my personal trainer push me out of my comfort zone and keep me focused on being active all week long. In the gym, I challenge myself to lift heavier, jump higher, get one more rep or run one more mile. Races, including a team “mud run” or taking my furry friends to the dog park, are fun ways to be active and social at the same time."

"It’s not obvious now, but prior to law school I owned a fitness business (Jazzercise studio). Staying active and regular exercise continue to be important to me. Now, my routine includes Pure Barre classes and walking the riverwalk and bridges. My husband and I have kayaks and intend to explore the Florida waterways more now that he’s retired. Suggestions?"

"I stay active by waking up early to exercise most days during the workweek. Waking up early is essential to maintaining a routine because obligations that can easily turn into excuses not to exercise begin at daybreak. Whenever I start to get more out of sleeping in than waking up to exercise, I alter my workout routine so I can stay committed to being active."
