Kate Mesic was selected as a member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers 2015 Class of Leaders in the Law.
She is a member of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association, which is the Jacksonville chapter of FAWL.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with an amazing group of women who support each other and the legal profession as much as possible,” said Mesic, of the Law Offices of Kate Mesic and past president of JWLA.
FAWL chapters selected women from around the state for its Class of Leaders in the Law who have made meaningful contributions in their communities through legal service or volunteer activities and who have provided a positive role model for the organization’s members.
Mesic’s practice focuses on business law, including general counsel services and criminal defense with an emphasis on DUI and traffic offenses.
Mesic earned a Juris Doctor from University of Florida, Levin College of Law and a B.A. in English from the University of North Florida and is fluent in Russian.
Daniel Blanks joins Nelson Mullins firm
Daniel F. Blanks joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Jacksonville office as a partner.
He will focus on bankruptcy, financial restructuring, distressed asset acquisitions, creditors’ rights, commercial workouts, consumer financial litigation, and commercial litigation.
Mr. Blanks is experienced in representing corporate debtors, official and unofficial committees of creditors or equity holders, asset acquirers, plan administrators, liquidating trustees, secured lenders, creditors and other stakeholders in a variety of business Chapter 11 cases as well as foreign trustees in Chapter 15 proceedings.
