Residents won’t be moving in until late 2018, but this rendering has been released for The District Luxury Apartments.

The project is planned for The District – Life Well Lived, formerly known as the Healthy Town community Downtown along the Southbank.

According to Birmingham, Ala.,-based Equity Resources LLC, 552 efficiency, one- and two-bedroom apartments will be built above 46,000 square feet of retail space and a 433-space parking garage.

Amenities include a swimming pool and an observation deck with a view of a planned 125-slip marina. Plans call for construction of the community to begin in mid-summer, with the first units ready for move-in about 18 months later.
