How did you become involved? Spohrer & Dodd has participated for many years. After being invited to participate the first time, I was hooked. It gets you into the holiday spirit and is a great team-building activity. The real reward comes at the end when you watch the face of a child who just opened what may be their only present during the holiday season.
How can someone else become involved? Call HandsOn Jacksonville or go to the website, handsonjacksonville.org, and tell them you want to help with A Visit from St. Nicholas.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience? I’ve learned to appreciate the people who have provided positive guidance and positive experiences in my life and hope to pay it forward.
What was the last book you read or are reading? “The Diary of Anne Frank.” I’ll be visiting Amsterdam and wanted to appreciate the secret annex more before I visit.
