Amenities first. That’s what’s in store for residents of the new Atlantic Beach Country Club community.
Construction of the country club’s 18-hole golf course and 16,000-square-foot clubhouse is nearing completion. At the same time, builders have broken ground on first of the community’s 178 homes.
The country club’s golf course was designed by Ponte Vedra resident Erik Larsen of LarsenGolf. Its clubhouse will include a junior-Olympic sized pool, a fitness center, tennis courts, pro shops, locker rooms and dining.
Membership sales hit 535 by the end of summer, according to membership director Melissa Bryan, placing the country club over its goal of 520 by year’s end. A grand opening has been scheduled for December.
On the residential side of the development, Toll Brothers, based in Horsham, Pa., and Riverside Homes, based in Jacksonville, have broken ground on semi-custom homes that will range from 2,000 to more than 4,000 square feet and are expected to sell for $600,000 to $1.5 million.
Out of the 178 planned home sites, Toll Brothers will build 90, Riverside will build 30 and project developer Atlantic Beach Partners LLC, will sell the remaining lots for custom homes.
Lot prices start in the mid-$190,000s and go to the mid-$400,000s.
