Greg Matovina, owner of Matovina & Co., has been selected as chairman of the Florida Home Builders Association’s Governmental Affairs Committee for 2014-15, the association reported.

A past president of the Northeast Florida Builders Association, Matovina founded Matovina & Co. in 1991 and has since been involved in the development of over 10,000 home sites, targeting customers that range from first-time home buyers to luxury buyers in higher-end communities.

Key issues Matovina will follow in the upcoming session include water-related policies that will impact stormwater rules, septic tank use and springshed protection. In addition, there will be technical fixes and conflict resolution of building and fire codes, a continued push for full funding of the Sadowski Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and proposals that would subject residential developments to homeowners association regulations that now are limited to condos.

As a Realtor, Michael specializes in assisting active-duty military, reserves and veterans.
