Tansy Moon has been a Realtor with Prudential Network Realty in Atlantic Beach for four years. Prior to real estate she was in the subprime side of the lending world for seven years with Option 1 Mortgage. Before that she was with a cellular phone company for six years in corporate sales
“About five years ago, most of the subprime mortgage companies took a big fall, so I was part of big fall and my company went out of business.” Times were tough, but she prevailed. “God just breathed hope and life back into me and I felt like God wanted me to go into real estate.” She became Rookie of Year the first year and has been a top producer every year since.
Unique name?
“I’ve always been Tansy Moon. I think it is easy to remember and it’s fun. The name sticks and I think my kids stick. I’m fun and I’m going to be fun throughout the process. If you don’t want a fun agent, don’t call me.”
Interesting marketing?
Moon sends out postcards featuring her children by a “sold” sign with saying such as “Our mom listed and sold this amazing house in your neighborhood.” Moon said that type of marketing reflects who she is. “My kids are the most important thing to me and they love what I do. They love being with me so they put up signs with me. When I sell a house, they celebrate with me.”
Leads?
Moon said her business is 100 percent referral business.
Area she focuses on?
All of the beaches and Nocatee.
How’s the market?
“It almost feels like it is a seller’s market right now. I just sold a house that had five offers in the first week. There were more offers than we could handle. It was crazy. It was gorgeous but it backed up to Butler Boulevard. You would think this would be a hard sell, but the sellers ended up getting $10,000 more than the listing price."
Education
She has a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of South Florida.
She’s an ‘Ironman’
Moon has trained and competed in four Ironman races with her husband. She even qualified and competed in the Ironman Hawaii. Ironman races consist of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bicycle ride and a 26.2-mile run. “It’s a long day and very addicting.” She still loves to run and participates in many local races including the “Never Quit” races at the beach.
Like about real estate?
“I love the fact that every day you get to meet new people. You get invited into people’s lives and they become your friends.”
Best advice from a co-worker?
“Remember why you chose to be here doing real estate because you can get lost in the crazy. When I remember why I am here, it totally puts it into perspective.”
Advice for loan officers?
“Remember that there is a person attached to every transaction.”
Advice for new agent?
Moon said to never give up!
