In the sparkle of the holiday shopping season, Tiffany & Co. advertised its $10 million Tiffany Anniversary Diamond ring on Dec. 10 on Page A3 of The Wall Street Journal.
The price was listed as $10,000,000. That's seven zeroes.
It's the most expensive piece of jewelry available at the New York-based retailer, which operates 272 stores worldwide, including one at St. Johns Town Center in South Jacksonville.
Curious about a $10 million piece of jewelry advertised in a newspaper, we asked Tiffany & Co. a few questions. Director Kyle Wilkinson responded by email.
While we also asked about the targeted market for the ring, Wilkinson did not address that. It's obvious the market is whoever can afford it.
How many of the rings are available? Any purchases yet?
In tribute to Tiffany & Co.'s 175th anniversary, the world-renowned jeweler presents new collections featuring fancy color diamonds that sparkle throughout its history. The Tiffany Anniversary Blue ring, a fancy vivid greenish blue diamond of 2.51 carats bordered with white diamonds in a platinum setting, is a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. It is currently available for purchase.
Is this the most expensive piece or are there others?
The heritage of Tiffany & Co. is vividly illuminated by the magnificent diamonds that initially brought the company international renown and continue to highlight Tiffany's legacy as one of the world's premier jewelers. The Tiffany Anniversary Blue ring is currently the most expensive piece of jewelry available at Tiffany & Co.
How does one purchase this?
A client can make an appointment at their local Tiffany & Co. store to view and purchase the Tiffany Anniversary Blue ring as well as other magnificent pieces of Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
