Nominations sought for inaugural Raymond Ehrlich Trial Advocacy award.

Nominations are being sought for a newly-created Raymond Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Award, which will be presented April 24 at the second annual Raymond Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Seminar. The seminar, which was a tremendous success last year, honors former Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Ehrlich for his contributions as a trial lawyer and judge. The seminar emphasizes the attributes that made Justice Ehrlich a successful trial advocate with the hope of perpetuating those ideals.

The Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Award will recognize annually a lawyer from the local legal community whose career has embodied those qualities to which litigators aspire.

The Award Committee will evaluate applicants based on the qualities that made Justice Ehrlich a role model. These qualities include:

• Steadfast obedience to ethics

• Respect to all participants in the legal system, always

• Even-tempered

• Aggressive

• Professional

• Driven by what is right, not by fees or billable hours

• Discerning

• Scholar

• A mentor and willing assistant to those in need

Please submit letters of nomination by the close of business on April 7 to: The Trial Advocacy Award Committee, c/o Donna McGavic, Smith Hulsey & Busey, 1800 Wachovia Bank Tower, 225 Water St, Jacksonville, 32202.
